Dr. Minnock discharged me while I had high blood pressure. All I was told when she discharged me was your blood pressure has been somewhat high. She never educated me on signs of postpartum preeclampsia (which I never heard of). As a result, as my husband was driving me home from the hospital, I started to get dizzy and have blurred vision. We decided to head to the ER where I was reemitted for postpartum preeclampsia. The ER nurse kept telling me based off my original BP readings I should have never been discharged. I ended up having a magnesium drip and was made to feel bad because I was having pretty bad anxiety with the preeclampsia. This all resulted in me trying to nurse under harder circumstances. For instance, because my baby and I were discharged, I was not allowed to use the nursery, lactation consultant, etc. Plus my medical bill was much higher since I went to the ER. The whole incident has been unfortunate and has made me switch practices. This doctor made the wrong call, did not inform me or equip me with knowledge on possible postpartum preeclampsia, and belittled me because I was anxious and afraid about the condition.
