I have done business with Freeman's for over 15 years. Freeman's got back to me immediately when I wanted to sell my book collection, whereas a local and large auction house in Massachusetts never got back to me at all. And the sale was very successful. Whenever I have purchased an item: painting or Asian piece, it has arrived in exactly the condition described, even after I checked with them on the item's condition. Totally honest. I found no snobs at Freeman's, and the Boston office helped me to consign some of my art: paintings and drawings. They were realistic as to value, and if Freeman's has been in business since 1805, then they must be doing something right. I might add that the Boston office helped to secure a large collection of paintings by W. P. Phelps which might have been sold in New England but did quite well in Philadelphia.

BEWARE!!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE ...

BEWARE!!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE!!!!!! Pompous egotistical snobs. Terrible experience with dishonest Freeman's Auctioneers mainly Kate Waterhouse and the big cheese himself, S. M. Freeman.

Do not consign with them and definately do not buy from them. Don't say I didn't warn you.

They are not even from Boston, they are from Philadelphia.

I'm sorry you felt you had a bad experience with Freeman's. If you'd like to contact me at the Boston office directly, I'd like to address whatever problems you may have had. Yes we are from Philadelphia, where we have been conducting auctions since 1805. Like every other major auction house in the nation we strive to serve as many metropolitan areas as possible.
