He is double board certified with the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and American Board of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery. His concentrated background in the face and neck allows mastery of both the technical and artistic challenges of these areas. Family ties have brought Dr. Patel to Brookfield, Wisconsin after practicing many years at a thriving practice in Austin, Texas. See some of his testimonials here . Prior to this, Dr. Patel was selected to a competitive fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) in Houston, Texas and completed a busy head and neck surgery residency at the nation’s first specialty hospital: New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. Dr. Patel grew up in Southern California where he was valedictorian of his high school and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to deciding on medicine as a profession, he held professional positions in journalism and software engineering. He then completed medical training at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine where he was a Dean’s Scholar and elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society. Dr. Patel has been involved in humanitarian missions to developing countries. Here, he is holding a patient who underwent cleft lip and palate repair in Santa Marta, Colombia. Dr. Patel has been actively involved in publishing or presenting research about both the cosmetic and reconstructive aspects of facial plastic surgery.
