Vapor Bus manufactures door equipment and door systems to the North American bus industry. Its equipment is used in transit and commuter buses, intercity and tour coaches, shuttle buses and utility vehicles throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Vapor offers complete automatic door systems as well as individual components, including actuators devices, door controls, door panels, seals, and door accessories. The company is a subsidiary of Wabtec, a manufacturer of a broad range of products for locomotives, freight cars and passenger transit vehicles. Vapor was founded in 1903 as a supplier of steam heating equipment for railroad passenger cars. It is headquartered in Buffalo Grove, Ill., and operates manufacturing facilities in Staffordshire, England and Sassuolo, Italy. All plants are equipped with machining, fabricating and testing equipment. It also operates sales and services in New York, Buffalo Grove, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Calif.; and Staffordshire and Sassuolo.
