Flying High Pet Resort is a wonderful family owned business that our community is lucky to have. It's hard to find a place that you can trust with your furry family members and I recommend Flying High Pet Resort exclusively for doggie day care needs. Many pet owners are not able to provide enough exercise and mental stimulation for high energy dogs, so a reputable day care center like Flying High can make all the difference for both dogs and families. Each dog is carefully screened for compatibility and placed in a proper day care group where they are closely watched all day via the staff who sincerely take pride in their work. The owner and staff care for every single animal brought to them as if they were their own. Not only do they take excellent care of their daycare and grooming clients, they really care about our community and contributing to positive pet causes locally. Dawn Lopez and her team are the first to help out and spread the word when a dog goes missing in Camarillo Ca.

This is long overdue...I want to say how blessed we are to have Flying High. Baxter is lucky to have learned all of his beginning social skills here as a young deaf puppy. We always have a place for him when he is not able to go on trips. with us. The staff is always friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Flying High Pet Resort. We have a 2 year old Morkie, Chewie, who attends the daycare twice a week and when he comes home, he's one tired puppy. Not only does he play with all of his friends but he plays with the staff. I love that the employees are there in more than just a supervisory role; they actively play with the dogs. I feel completely safe with my dog (i.e. my baby) there. The staff seem to love him like he was their own.



The following are a list of reasons why we do not want to take Chewie to any other day care or grooming facility. We have tried other day cares and grooming facilities. As this is not a review of their business, they will be referred to by aliases in this list.



1. Personal attention - All dogs at Flying High are closely supervised with a good dog-to-staff member ratio. The staff members play and interact with Chewie all day. At 'Day Care X', the employees appear to take a much more supervisory role, so the animals miss out on the love and important socialization that comes with close human contact.



2. Grooming - Flying High has an excellent grooming service. Chewie's trims are significantly better than the ones that he used to receive at Grooming Facility X. In addition, we feel much safer with him at the Flying High facility. The experienced groomers know his personality and know exactly how much grooming he can handle before he needs a break for some play time. There have been numerous stories in the news of dogs being injured, going missing, or even dying as a result of inattentive groomers. We trust the Flying High groomers and absolutely do not want to try to find someone else.



3. Not Just Another Dog - Flying High is very customer driven, with all of the staff taking the time to meet all customer needs. Our Chewie is not just another 'number' at Flying High. The day care staff knows his personality and his desire for as much human interaction as possible.



4. Pricing - Flying High provides economical day care and grooming within our budget.



5. Chewie Plays with Dogs of All Sizes - Flying High proves that dogs of all sizes can get along. They temperament test all of their dogs to make sure that they can handle being around dogs of different sizes prior to putting them all together. Chewie thrives while playing with bigger dogs, and vice versa. Outside of Flying High, dogs are constantly encountering dogs that are different from them. Introducing them to variety in a safe, controlled, and always closely supervised environment has led to his being better adjusted. He's not scared of other dogs when walking around our neighborhood, no matter the size of the dog.

2 years ago our rescue dog, a lab/ golden retriever named Backie, started having anxiety problems that went from manageable to bad. We took her to the vet who suggested we medicate her. We decided to research alternate options. After taking obedience classes and only seeing a small improvement we decided to see if doggy day care would help. That is when we found Flying High Pet Resort.



Backie's first day was difficult as she easily scaled a 5 foot fence. Over the next couple of months the owner, Dawn Lopez, worked with Backie daily to make her feel comfortable and secure. Now when we take her to daycare she walks right in and waits to be let into the back with the other dogs.



March of this year, when I was 7 months pregnant, I was involved in a car accident where we lost Backie for 6 days. Dawn Lopez stepped up, searched for her everyday, checked the shelter, hung flyers, arranged search parties, and so much more. Flying High Pet Resort became to headquarters in the search for Backie. Knowing that Dawn was searching and that she was doing everything she could gave me the peace of mind so I could rest & recover.



Dawn did not have to do any of this. She had her own life, family, and a small business to run yet she took the time to lead the search for my lost pup. Dawn is an amazing human being.



Flying High Pet Resort has made Backie a better dog. Socializing with other dogs and having company instead of being home alone has helped to quell some of her anxiety. Flying High Pet Resort is essential to Camarillo. We know when we drop Backie off that she will be loved and taken care of. We also don't have to wonder what mess we will find when we come home.



Without Dawn & Flying High Pet Resort we don't know where we would be today.

We feel so fortunate to have found Flying HIgh! Our dog is very old and has not really been boarded often-we usually find a person to sit with him at home. Since we just moved to Camarillo and had to take a trip, I consulted Yelp to find a good place. I'm telling you, Yelp's never steered me wrong and this was no exception!



The people who work at Flying High are so friendly and kind. You can tell that they love animals and want them to be as happy as possible while they are away from home. They take the time to ask you all about your pet's temperament beforehand so they know where best to place them when they care for them. It's obvious they love the work they do there and take it very seriously. Professionals all the way!

I have been taking my dog to Flying High for over 2 years. When I drop her off she runs away from me so fast it always puts me at ease. What also puts me at ease is that they know her by name and that say that they have been expecting her! About a year ago there was a very fancy day care that was opening across a street from my work. I was very excited about starting to take my dog there as it is convenient and had the latest technology. I took my dog there once to try it out and she will never go back. My dog was treated like a number, I waited in line for over 10 minutes to drop her off, and no one knows who she is in the craziness of over 50 dogs. I will take the personalized service at Flying High any day for the convenience of the other facility. As a matter of fact I have to drive over 30 minutes out of my way to get her to Flying High but it is worth it. I have also boarded my dog many times at Flying High and I feel so comfortable. As I am fans with them on Facebook they will even post pictures of how she is doing on my wall...such a great touch! So Flying High may not have the glitz and glamour of other facilities but they have a wonderful caring staff who loves animals and always takes great care of mine when I cannot be with her.

I absolutely LOVE Flying High Pet Resort, and more importantly so does my young chihuahua, Rico! I started taking Rico to FHPR when he was about six months old and I noticed he was becoming more and more scared of and aggressive towards other dogs. I knew he needed some socialization and Dawn was happy to work with him to get him comfortable with the other dogs. He goes one day a week and does really well with the other dogs now. Thank you Dawn and Tasha and other staff members who've helped my Rico become a more balanced, well behaved little guy.

My English Springer Spaniel was cared for on and off by the wonderful staff at the Flying High Pet Resort over a period of six years toward the end of her life. As my dog grew older, her special needs increased, but the staff never missed a beat. They were always loving and kind, pacing themselves with her. They never blinked when I brought in special medication and prescription food. When my own medical needs increased, the staff was always helpful getting my dog in and out of the car and ensuring her safety and well-being while I was being treated myself for medical issues. I will be forever grateful for the professionalism, courtesy, and compassion of the Flying High Pet Resort. Outstanding resource!

This is a wonderful doggie daycare and the best I've ever found! The staff all love dogs and show them a lot of affection. The place is well-run and spacious, with plenty of room for dogs to play and run around. They are very strict about testing dogs for temperment before letting them into daycare. I tried other places and no one else went to such lengths. They are also are very strict about making sure dogs have all of their shots and are healthy. My dog really "blossomed" and gained so much more confidence -- both with other dogs and with humans because of this place. They also provide cage-free boarding and "cuddle up" where daycare dogs in boarding can all sleep together in a pack. They also provide grooming services. They handle dogs so well and are the only place I have ever been to that didn't have to muzzle my dog to clip her nails.you can take a tour and see for yourself all the dogs are happy and safe .

My dog has been going to flying high pet resort for about 8 months. They are wonderful caring people, he can't wait to get inside that should be your first clue as an aware dog owner - if he was being treated badly you couldn't drag him in the place! All I have to say to him is do you want to go to school (as we call it) and he runs to the door to get in the car! He comes home happy and tired from all the activity and loving care he receives during his stay. We're been taking our dog once a week to the "resort" for more than 3 years now. We started when she was a puppy with the intention of making sure she was property socialized and ended up continuing to this very day. Even though my husband and I are retired and don't need to make use of the facility for day care, we have been so thrilled with the services and care that our dog receives that we keep coming back. We have found the resort to be very professionally run, exceptionally clean, with a staff that is well trained and competent regarding dog managmentand.
