- Dental ExaminationMaintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Even with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer affects thousands of Americans yearly. We use the latest technology to detect changes in oral tissue consistencies and/or lesions. A specialized light is shined into the mouth to detect unhealthy tissue. Healthy tissue looks lighter under the light while spots of bad tissue appear dark. With early detection, cancer may be caught before it has time to spread, potentially saving lives.
- Teeth Cleaning
- Fluoride TreatmentWe encourage parents to accompany their child during their visit. This gives you an opportunity to see us working with your child and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment needs directly with you. A thorough head and neck examination and evaluation of the teeth and gums are performed. Radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.
- Dental Sealants
- Space MaintainersIf a child loses a baby tooth, and it cannot be saved, in some cases, your dentist will tell you that nothing needs to be done, because the permanent teeth are nearing eruption. In cases where a very young child has a tooth knocked out, a space maintainer may be necessary to hold the space for the eventual eruption of the permanent teeth.
- Fillings
- VeneersChipped teeth typically do not pose a risk to your health, but chipping one of your front teeth is a cosmetic emergency. Treatments such as dental bonding can immediately restore a chipped tooth. However, depending on the severity of the chip, you may ultimately wish to cover the tooth with a porcelain veneer, or
- CrownsOther dental emergencies may not be painful but need to be treated as soon as possible. Examples include broken teeth, seriously chipped teeth, crowns that have come off, or dental fillings that have fallen out. Tender gums or gums that begin to bleed when brushing or flossing are also dental emergencies.
- Bridges
- Dental BondingCosmetic treatments are also available for children. Children who still have their primary teeth (baby teeth) may be eligible for cosmetic dental bonding to correct a discolored, chipped, or broken tooth. Older children who have all of their permanent teeth are eligible for clear aligners and teeth whitening.
- Restorative DentistryRestorative dentistry helps preserve natural teeth. The goal of restorative dentistry is to restore the function and integrity of the tooth structure, function, and health, while maintaining a natural appearance.
- Root Canal TreatmentA broken tooth is considered a dental emergency. You should notify your dentist immediately. If the break does not extend below the gum, the tooth can often be saved with a root canal, and dental crown.
