DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Do not even waste your money. We decided to give the Animal Inn in Carlisle, PA a try. A friend said she heard they got good reviews. They even received best business the last couple of years, but I believe if you have enough people rate your business and no other business compete then you can win best business. I know from experience that this is not true about this business. I should have followed my gut because the owner was a little shady over the phone. They didn’t deliver all of the services they promised. The nails were only partially trimmed and the ears were not clean. They only spent about 1 hour from start to finish. What we really needed was for them to brush as much hair off as possible, but they said he was ‘trying to get away from them.’ Of course he was, but that is why we pay a professional to groom him. We have always taken him to Pet Smart and they spend 2-3 hours with him. He comes back and it looks like he lost 20 pounds of hair they brush him for so long. The Animal Inn also didn’t dry him all the way – and offered another excuse. She said he has red spots from them brushing him (never happened before), but he is very shiny and soft. They used something on him that made him shiny and soft, but also cause a rash on his skin – that is probably why he was turning red. It felt almost like armor all and wherever he lies on our tile floor makes it feel waxy. We keep mopping, but just have to be careful not to slip and fall – both of us almost fell. Whatever treatment they gave him could be harmful to your pet if they react. Luckily the redness went away otherwise there might have been a trip to the vet. The thing that bothered me most was his behavior when he came home. Usually he comes home frisky and looks like he feels good after getting groomed. This time he just curled up all night and didn’t react to use, even when my husband came home. I wanted to surprise him, but he immediately knew something was wrong with him. I am not sure how the treat the animals they groom, but it was concerning when we got him and the way he reacted. Pet Smart does a fantastic job for only $10 more. I will never return to Animal Inn and I highly recommend you avoid them - this coming from first-hand experience.
