Located in Castro Valleys "Castro Village" two blocks from the CV BART Station.This is a "gem" local diner. Kept well hidden in the center of old Castro Valley. They have breakfast lunch dinner menu that is a good price for the hearty plates they serve up. Hugo is the chef and sometimes can be seen in the dining room visiting with the locals and asking about their meals and day. The menu is basic comfort foods and Hugo is famous for his burgers that I have tried and can say they are the best, the ground round is of high quality. The breakfasts are very hearty, The vegetarian omelet is amazing with fresh veggies from the season. The Capers French toast is also a favorite dish, thick dipped with a cinnamon touch. The dinner menu sticks with the freshest of ingredients that Capers is famous for.
