I highly recommend Mr Steve!! He is very knowledgeable and meticulous and as a bonus, he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I am so happy I found him and his prices are reasonable and he is upfront with all charges before doing any repairs. He repaired a broken dining chair, wooden bed post and the finial for me and I couldn't be happier with the results. Just to clarify that his building is the small white one in the pics on Google maps and not the blue one.

If you have precious pieces or furniture that yoiu have inherited or if yoiu love antique or flea market finds, you need to know Steve Tate at Estate Antique Restoration.

I am not originally from the Columbia area and, therefore, it is hard for me to get "word of mouth" recommendations. I settled on Steve based on online searches and reviews. I admit, I was leery about using him, but I needed someone to refinish my mother's dining room table and chairs.

Steve came to my house and looked at the furniture. He took pictures and gave me a very detailed estimate for the work. The results were very timely and astonishing. He matched my mother's furniture to our existing sideboard. The finish was better than the original.

This is an honest review by someone who really appreciates honest dealings and a high level of craftsmanship.

Steve brought an old family table back to life! It looks brand new, and we couldn't be happier with it. He took great care in making sure it was done correctly, and that we were happy with the stain option. Attention to detail, including the delivery and set-up of the finished piece, was excellent! It was a good experience, and the work is high quality.

I took a desk to Estate Antique Restoration that was purchased by my grandmother around 1947. It was a gift to my grandfather at the time. After their passing it was stored and during a move it was damaged by water. Steve is extremely knowledgeable and talented. The desk looks like we just purchased it off the show room floor. If you have any furniture you are considering to have repaired or restored, look no further, Estate Antique Restoration is the place! I have several other pieces that belonged to my grandparents and Steve will be repairing them for us. Steve is very professional and it his goal to restore your treasured items to mint condition. Go see him for all your restoration needs.

When I inherited my Mother and...

When I inherited my Mother and Dad's bedroom suite they bought in 1949, it was in dire need of refinishing. I called Steve and he promptly arrived, looked over the furniture and suggested the best way to restore the beauty and look for the head and footboards, dresser and chest of drawers. After more than 50 years of use, I couldn't believe how beautiful these pieces were when he returned them to me. Not only was Steve friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonable but also his attention and care to detail restored my pieces beyond my imagination! Although restoration and refinishing is his profession, I recognized his passion and appreciation for family treasures. He did beautiful work for me and I would utilize his services again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend Steve with the greatest of confidence.

Jane and I bought our home in ...

Jane and I bought our home in 1986 and shortly afterwards Steve refinished our custom built library shelves. These are floor to ceiling with glass doors. What a difference this made to our home when finished. Since then Steve has completed other refinishing jobs and we have always been extremely satisfied with the quality of his work. Steve is currently doing a Laine Chest that belonged to my mother and that I am giving to my daughter. Steve's workmanship on this chest will preserve the memory of my mother for myself and my daughter. Steve has been making memories that last from the years of aquired skills in refinishing fine furnishings.

Steve does excellent, high quality work and I would highly recommend to anyone. We had a 1930's dining set (table, buffet, server, china cabinet) and bedroom set that were perfectly restored at a very fair and reasonable price. Steve definitely does business the right way and was very easy to work with. He is very easy to talk to and an overall very nice person too, which makes a big difference when choosing personal service providers. We will be using Steve again in the future.

Estate Antique Restoration des...

Estate Antique Restoration deserves a 5 star rating. Steve refinished a 1920-40 pine front door w 5 coats of paint to remove and did an excellent job. The door has 14 window panes so alot of detail work had to be done. Steve is professional , nice and knows this business very well . He also took extra time to explain the processes to me so I could have a clear understanding of what to expect in the outcome of this project. I will definitely refer friends to Steve and use his services again.

Steve is one of the best refinishers in town. He does beautiful work and every piece is done correctly. He does not take "short-cuts" or do things "half-way". The work that he turns out is exceptional.
