Have been to two Romano's Macaroni Grills, one in Cerritos and the other in Los Alamitos, CA. Horrible experience in both. In Los Alamitos me and friend were seated (place not busy) waited way too long for a server to show. 10 minutes pass and no silverware or water brought to table. Asked for a server, after 5 minutes just got up and left the restaurant. Still not the worst, Cerritos restaurant topped that.

Again me and a friend stopped for dinner. Not busy and plenty of tables available. Made us wait over 10 minutes and then proceeded to place us right behind the greeters podium. Asked for another table (plenty of them empty) and she got wordy and snarky with us. Asked why this particular table and she proceeded to get nasty with us again. then just left.

Will NOT visit Romano's again. Get better service at In-N-Out, maybe they should send their staff there for training.

Terrible Valentines Day!

My husband and I visited the Cerritos location on Valentine’s Day. BIG MISTAKE! It took a little more than an hour to be seated. We were in the way of their guest seating traffic and right next to the waiter’s stations. You could hardly hear yourself talk. The lamb I ordered was so dry I had to send it back for something else. The server was so busy chatting with another server that when my husband finally did get his attention, he sent another server to help us while he stood there continuing to chat. Although he passed our table many times he rarely checked if we needed anything else (much less if we could use another drink).

NOW HERE’S THE REAL KICKER. After waiting forever to get “to go” packages and our bill…he leaned closer and tells us “you gotta calm down… this is our busiest day of year!” My husband and I were BOTH baffled because although we were obviously not happy with his service, we had not uttered a word of disapproval and to have this waiter tell us how we were to act when we were spending OUR hard earned money on THEIR food and service was such an insult! I called the manager when we got home. He took my number and address. He apologized and said he would be sending us gift certificates. Have yet to receive them. Par for the course.

What a waste of OUR money! It was my husbands and my first Valentine’s Day together as a married couple. What was a REAL waste was our time!

If I could rate this restaurant a negative star I would.

Great service, atmosphere, and food

Although a chain, this Macraoni Grill is a great location with ample room, good service, and tasty food. Our party had no trouble getting a table and being served well. We enjoyed it and would come back anytime.

I dine at this particular Italian-themed venue at least once every month or so, and the food is ALWAYS excellent. The pork chops and pasta items are delicious, prepared fresh and not overly oily or greasy (which is what I personally find Olive Garden's dishes to be). I've always received excellent service here, and tonight was no exception; servers "Lisa" and "Alex" took great care of my party's dining experience. Things like prompt refills, prompt meal preparation, server pleasantness and politeness, and overall attention to your personal dining experience, in addition to the excellent food, are what keep me coming back. The "Create Your Own Pasta" menu option is fantastic! Fresh, high quality ingredients prepared to your own specification...it's hard not to order this item every time I go! I haven't had EVERYTHING on the menu, but not a single one of the items I have had has been a disappointment. Give them a try...I doubt you'll be disappointed!
