The best surgeon around!!! I spent a week at Roper Hospital while on vacation from Connecticut. Prior surgeons in NYC and CT could not help with my bowel blockage and I gave up in disgust. My good fortune was to meet Dr. Lucas (in the emergency room of Roper Hospital, no less!) who is not only brilliant but has a wonderful bedside manner. He was set to make me comfortable and healthy enough to return to CT for surgery, but after meeting him, I decided that I didn't want anyone else doing my surgery. Whoever is reading this review: I delayed surgery and could not sleep through the night in 10 years. I was in constant pain to the point where I was bedridden and vomiting. Botched up gall bladder surgery and a mistrust of surgeons caused me to eliminate a "world renown" hospital. It is when I talked to Dr. Lucas, that I felt as if I finally met a surgeon whom I could trust. Believe me, I'm glad I did! Oh, by the way, Roper Hospital food is better than most restaurants!

Removed my gall bladder 5 years ago. Absolutely the best. I was at the hospital for about 5 hours total. Went home in no pain. The next day was a little sore and stayed sore for about a week. He made 3 little tiny incisions that required no more than a regular size band-aid. He's young but he knows his stuff.
