      General Info
      Darcey School, Stephen August Early Intervention Center, is located in Cheshire, Conn., and provides comprehensive services for children up to 5-years-old. Its state-funded program provides services to children up to 3-years who are identified as having developmental delays. The staff makes home visits to provide speech, physical, occupational and educational services. It provides special education services to children ages 3 to 5. The specialists in the program provide services in the areas of child development, speech and language pathology and occupational and physical therapies to address children s needs. Its teachers also provide consultation to the community nursery schools. Its parent center is a weekly program to support parents who have concerns about their child s development. The kindergarten curriculum includes literacy and numeracy components, science and social studies, as well as classes in music, art, physical education and library skills.
