DETAILS
General Info
Dr. Shivani Batra is an Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine physician who specializes in compassionate, minimally invasive and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of spine, joint, muscle, tendon, ligament and nerve injuries. Her goal is to help patients restore active and healthy lifestyles as quickly as possible – whether it be return to sports, work or normal daily activity. Dr. Batra takes a thorough approach to diagnosis and treatment, understanding that pain is a result of multiple issues, which is why she focuses on learning all aspects of her patients’ lives. She utilizes the most current diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities and focuses on restoring patients’ physical, functional and emotional well-being. Her goal is to utilize the least aggressive intervention that will provide patients the most relief. We understand that many people are not familiar with the concept of interventional pain medicine. Dr. Batra utilizes non-invasive or minimally-invasive techniques that both reduce your pain and decrease exposure to potentially habit-forming medications with significant side effects. Dr. Batra has always enjoyed the musculoskeletal system through her early participation in sports and dance including gymnastics, tennis and crew. She attended the University of Florida and studied exercise physiology confirming her interests lie in medicine. She went on to attend an osteopathic medical school where she developed a deeper understanding of structure and function and its effects on the human body. In osteopathic medical school, she received additional training in manual medicine and perfecting the musculoskeletal physical examination. She continues to enjoy health and fitness in the form of running, Pilates, and yoga. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, exploring Chicago’s restaurants and traveling.
