Established in 1976, Crosswood Oaks is a senior living facility that offers several studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments. It provides a variety of social, educational, recreational, spiritual and physical activities. Crosswood Oaks features a courtyard, fitness center, library, barber shop and recreational room. It additionally provides housekeeping, laundry, local transportation, and guest dining and lodging services. Crosswood Oaks offers a 24-hour staff on duty. Located in Citrus Heights, Calif., the facility is managed by Capital Senior Living Corporation, which operates more than 60 senior living communities in over 20 states with an aggregate capacity of approximately 9,400 residents.

My parents lived here for only a couple of months and then had to move as my father needed assisted living. Crossword Oaks is an independent living community. It's in a good location in Citrus Heights, right next door to Sylvan Oaks library and the park and down the street form Costco and Walmart. It's an older facility and could use some updating. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The apartment my parents were in was small and dark and had a strange-shaped kitchen but some of the other apartments there are brighter. Make sure you know what you're getting when you sign up.
