I would not recommend Red Buffalo Ranch to anyone. Although some of the staff was very pleasant, one staff member, Mary, was one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. I’m not sure why she was given a job where she has to interact with people as she clearly gets her self esteem from belittling others. Besides the rudest ‘customer service’ staff I’ve ever encountered, the ride started almost an hour late, prior to and during the 60 minute ride I personally saw no less than a dozen horses kick at each other (extremely dangerous!) In my opinion, horses that are constantly biting and kicking each other do not make safe trail riding horses, especially for beginners. Before we started, one girl’s foot was stepped on by a horse and another staff member told her it was her fault for being too close. However, there was no instructions as to safety rules and precautions around horses. Mary made me get off my horse, as she said I couldn’t control him, and I had to walk thru huge amounts of mud and water for the last mile. When we got back to the barn, one of the other staff members who saw how Mary treated me deeply apologized for her behavior. I asked that the owner give me a call at that point. I called 2 days later to ask to speak with the owner and a message was taken. It’s been 2 weeks and I was never called. Not a safe experience and very rude staff.

DO NOT ride Belle. She is beau...

DO NOT ride Belle. She is beautiful, but likes to walk right into trees...and it HURTS. I kept pulling and turning her to go around them, but she would merely turn her head and keep walking straight. Somtimes she would even start walking in the other direction (into the bushes even farther). It was amusing at first, but when she walked right into a tree that bent and then shot back up at me, I started to getting mad. I was then stuck with her for the whole 2 hour ride. Great trails and friendly staff and guides, but I got no sympathy for what I went through with Belle.
