I read the online reviews here...

I read the online reviews here and on yelp but only after choosing this convenient location as my provider. So I decided to have the 1st appointment to see if they cleaned up their act - answer is a resounding NO!

As I read in the reviews I can confirm it’s true - they simply can’t do a teeth cleaning on the 1st visit like every other dentist does since they are too buy taking 25 xrays. But I was prepared for it thanks to those who posted before us. After the xrays, the dentist looked in my mouth – poked around for awhile, then simply said, I can’t do anything until you see a Periodontist?! Since I’ve had regular 6 mo checkups and teeth cleanings – I was a more than surprised. I shared with him that no other dentist ever mentioned the need for Periodontics – even in passing! But nothing could be done until this visit (which conveniently booked with a Periodonist in the same practice) so I had to wait over 2 weeks to get an appointment. The woman said up front it’s going to be $70 out of pocket and when I asked her why I couldn’t just get a normal teeth cleaning that every other office seems to be able to provide and she said there were levels and this was the racquet (aka process) and that was that. I asked if the Periodontist agreed w/ the dentist and I couldn’t afford the ‘special’ cleaning could I get a regular one or would I be refused service. She said I would be refused serviced.

Just got out of his office – Dr Mazur, who by the way was the best part of an awful experience and I wondered on the way home why he worked there! – and after he looked in my mouth and poked around (max time in the chair was a minute and probably less) he said you ‘might have the beginnings of some bone loss’ but no need for periodontics so I’ll release you to have the teeth cleaning! explained to him the same thing I told the dentist – knew I didn’t need to see him but was forced to by the racquet (aka procedures) they have in place. He said he’d see what he can do. Long /short, I was escorted to the counter to pay my $70 and then schedule a teeth cleaning. I told the check out person that it was ridiculous to pay this amount for less than a minute with the doctor esp. when there was no reason for the appointment to begin with. She kindly called the office manager over and from the look on her face she seemed very versed in passing off the many complaints she probably gets every day.

A man of few words he said – you were seen, you have to pay. There were ‘other notes’ from the dentist as to why he referred you – but what was never shared.

So I paid the $ and asked for my xrays since returning was not an option – only to learn I had to pay $10 for ccs of the xrays! After mentioning that I (or my insurance company) already paid for them in my 1st useless visit – they said it was part of the racquet (aka procedure.) I guess he got out of his character / script when he looked up and realized I wasn’t paying or leaving without the xrays … so he made some type of special deal for me and waived the fee.

Called to report the cc fee to Cigna as soon as I left the office only to find out they are not supposed to charge for the xrays! I also filed a claim against the office for the Periodontist visit and co-pay I didn’t need. Don't put yourself through this - pick another provider now!
