Founded in 1852, St. Peter's Catholic School, a ministry of St. Peter's Church, offers educational services for students in kindergarten through grade six. The school provides a variety of academic programs in art, technological communication and foreign languages. It also offers an extended-day program that includes classes in arts and crafts, piano instrumental music and voice modulation. St. Peter's Catholic School provides tae kwon do classes and operates a computer club. The school additionally maintains a choir group, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. It offers altar serving training services and various extracurricular activities. St. Peter's Catholic School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

My son has been a student at St. Peter's for six years and we have been very happy with his school experience. Even though we are not Catholic, we chose St. Peter's for the small size, convenient location and nurturing environment. As of May 2009 there is a new principal at the school who is taking the school in a positive new direction, stengthening the curriculum and faculty, modeling a gentle but effective way of applying discipline (no tears or raised voices). St. Peter's is a lab school for the USC Music Education Department so the music is a real jewel in the program at the school. At this point, St. Peter's is looking at growth and adding to the program rather than cutting as is the case in so many of the public schools currently. We are very happy with our decision to stay with this school.
