Specialties Mustard Seed Columbus is owned and operated by the nine Allwein children, and specializes in making the perfect meals for any type of event. Chef and father Gary Allwein has over 30 years of experience as an executive Chef, working at the Hilton East and The Ohio State Faculty Club. Chef Gary has the ability to customize the menu to fit any occasion perfectly. History Established in 1992 Established in 1992, Mustard Seed Catering was started by Christina and Chef Gary Allwein. While working as the executive Chef at the Ohio State Faculty Club, Chef Gary began to cater part time for private requests. With the help of the nine Allwein children, Mustard Seed Catering experienced rapid growth. In 2000 Mustard Seed Catering became a full time, full service catering company that is now serving over 200 customers every year. In 2013 the company changed its name to Mustard Seed Columbus. Meet the Business Owner: Chef Gary A. Chef Gary Allwein started working for the food industry at the age of 16. Starting as a cook Gary worked at numerous places including: The Clermont Restaurants, Hilton East, Worthington Inn, and Spagio. Gary received a culinary and business management degree at CTI in Columbus. He began working as an Executive Chef at the Hilton East. Gary was then appointed as the Executive Chef at the Ohio State Faculty Club in 1984. At the faculty club Chef Gary was able to expand his culinary skills, and he learned the art of crafting the highest quality gourmet foods. Chef Gary started Mustard Seed Columbus in 1992 and has expanded the company into a high quality family friendly catering company. Chef Gary Allwein is a father of nine children. The names of the kids are Dawn, Nathan, Anya, Heidi, Catherine, Jotham, Anthony, Dorothy, and Donald. In some capacity all of Gary's kids have worked for Mustard Seed Columbus.
