      The Town Hall organizes a variety of functions, meetings and conferences. The hall houses the offices of various departments and agencies. The Town Hall is a part of the town of Cumberland in Rhode Island, which was incorporated in 1746. The town has a population of more than 31,800 people. The town of Cumberland governs a public works department that is responsible for maintaining roads, streets and drainage systems. In addition, it has a highway department that constructs, repairs and operates public buildings and grounds. The highway department manages bridges, watercourses, and storm and sanitary sewers. The department also maintains the town s vehicles and parks and recreational facilities.
