- NeurologyMCCA is seeking a Medical Director, a Physician licensed in Connecticut who is eligible to be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, ideally certified in addiction medicine. The Medical Director will provide leadership of the MCCA treatment teams in evaluating, planning and delivering a comprehensive recovery program for Outpatient and Residential Programs. Provide psychiatric evaluations, consultation, interdisciplinary team clinical leadership and medication management as needed. Review and analyze treatment planning of clinical staff.
- Mental HealthMCCA is contracted with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to provide the Pretrial Alcohol Education System (PAES), a pretrial diversion program, for first-time “Driving Under the Influence” (DUI)/ “Operating Under the Influence” (OUI) offenders in Connecticut. PAES is also an option for current offenders who have not used the program or had a DUI/OUI conviction within the last ten years. The program is for DUI/OUI offenders who were operating a motor vehicle, a boat, a snowmobile, or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). DUI/OUI in Connecticut is based on a blood alcohol content (BAC) limit of 0.08 for people ages 21 and over, and a BAC of 0.02 for anyone under age 21.
- PsychiatryDr. Elsamra received his medical education and specialty training at the University of Connecticut. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry. He spent four years as a staff supervisor at the APT Foundation and at the Yale Substance Abuse Fellowship program in New Haven, CT. His special areas of interest include addictions and trauma recovery. Dr. Elsamra believes strongly in the resilience of the human spirit and sees the role of the psychiatrist as assisting the person in removing obstacles to the natural healing and recovery process.
