Me and my daughter decided to stop by to take a look at the dogs, but as soon as we walked in we felt we had to prove that we were going to adopt one on thd spot without even seeing the dogs.you have no freedom to just look at the animals.they will only guide you through the animals like its an attraction at a zoo.they finally offered to guide us through, so they brought out this weirdo to hold me and my daughters hand.we decided to just leave without even seeing the dogs.....I will never return and i feel sorry for the animals.

My mother and I, both on separate occasions, took the time to stop by the shelter to possibly adopt a dog. I mostly to look, with my son. My mother looking specifically to adopt. I was turned away, saying they did not have time to show the dogs to someone who wasn't looking specifically to adopt. My mother was given a hard time, they didn't want to let her look because they didn't think she was going to adopt... If they want to give these animals homes, they have to let people look... every time Ive adopted a dog (which has been 3 times in my life) I went in just to "look". My sister adopted one just going in to "look" These poor animals, will be imprisoned in cages forever if they wont let people browse the selection. I for one am incredibly disappointed.

I found DCHS to be most caring and helpful in taking in and helping me find homes for dogs that I have found. They have gone out of their way to be helpful and have shown that they truly have the dogs best interest at heart. It is also the cleanest most well-managed Humane Society I have encountered. GO Dawson County Dawgs! Keep up the great work
