- CryotherapyThe use of cryotherapy for the reduction of postoperative swelling and pain has become commonplace in orthopedic, podiatric, and cosmetic surgery. Prolonged exposure to extreme cold may induce an injury nearly identical to that of frostbite. The authors report on 2 patients who underwent podiatric orthopedic surgery and were exposed to prolonged cold therapy, which resulted in limb-threatening problems. - Emergency CareWhen you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you shouldn't be charged more than your plan's copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible.
- ImmunizationsOur practice participates the state Immunization registry, CIIS. CIIS is a confidential, population-based, computerized system that collects and consolidates immunization data for all Coloradans and is run by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

- Radiology“Classically, patients with pathological pelvic fractures had no reasonable surgical intervention,” says Dr. Daniel Lerman, an orthopedic surgeon, who works with Dr. Anthony Brown, an interventional radiologist with Radiology Imaging Associates, to perform these complex surgeries.
- X-Rays
- Computed TomographyIn these cases, Brown is using bone cement to substitute for normal bone. Using incisions less than an inch long and real-time CT scans in the operating room to plan the surgery, Lerman places screws in the bone that is left. Brown then uses bone cement to build a bridge between screws and between healthy bone, basically rebuilding the pelvis.
- ChemotherapyThe neoadjuvant treatment of osteosarcoma using intravenous agents has resulted in survival rates of 55% to 77% [3, 5, 6, 20, 22, 35]. We designed a neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol using combined intraarterial and intravenous agents to treat high-grade osteosarcoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma of bone in an attempt to improve survival. - Radiation TherapyPelvic deterioration is a significant concern for patients who have weakened pelvic muscles due to bone cancer or radiation therapy for cancer of another part of the body. Along with Interventional Radiologist Tony Brown, MD, Daniel Lerman, MD created a novel surgical technique to address stabilizing the hip. Percutaneous pelvic stabilization is minimally invasive treatment option that provides an increase in quality of life for patients who have lost mobility or are in constant pain due to diseased or exposed bone.
- OrthopedicsOur team is experienced in offering new hope and optimism to patients who have been given grim diagnoses by other providers. Because we are solely focused on complex orthopedics and limb preservation, our physicians have uniquely vast experience in complex orthopedic care, treating more than 10,000 patients with conditions that jeopardize the limbs.
- Joint ReplacementFor most patients, a total joint replacement of the knee, hip, ankle, or shoulder means a new lease on life and a return to the activities they once enjoyed. However, for some patients, the post-surgical complications or eventual deterioration of the artificial joint causes more concern than the original complaint. In this case, the patient requires a total joint revision surgery.
- Orthopedic SurgeryOsseointegration is a biologic process vital to modern endoprosthetic fixation in orthopedic surgery. Numerous engineering advancements have improved the utilization of this technology in orthopedics; however, issues such as stress shielding, aseptic loosening, and bone loss remain an ongoing challenge. - Hip ReplacementEvery time doctors asked what I was doing for my osteonecrosis outside of Presbyterian/St. Luke's they were shocked to hear there was an option besides hip replacement surgery and besides just a normal decompression surgery. So it was pretty awesome to know how much of the front lines we were and that were very innovative medicine.
- Plastic SurgeryFellowship-trained and experienced in joint preservation and joint reconstruction procedures, our surgeons provide customized care plans (and often innovative treatment options) that are created in concert with leaders from other disciplines such as plastic surgery and oncology.

- LesionsThe treatment of benign bone lesions can be challenging due to the limited quantity of autogenous graft available for harvest and grafting of the defect. The use of an injectable calcium bone graft substitute, Minimally-Invasive Injectable Graft (MIIG) (Wright Medical Technology, Inc, Arlington, Tenn), material for treatment of these bone lesions is advantageous. Calcium sulfate has a long-standing history in the treatment of bone voids secondary to trauma, infection, or neoplastic processes. Read More about treatment of benign bone lesions
