Doggy Obey! Downey California Professional Dog Training by Certified Instructors. You have many choices when it comes to dog obedience training. We at Doggy Obey use the latest research based methods that humanely teach your dog to be the companion you always wanted! Puppy Kindergarten: Socialization is very important in the first months of raising a puppy, and good socialization results in a well balanced dog. We offer Puppy Kindergarten classes for basic obedience, potty training, crate training, and that all important puppy play time! Group Classes: Dogs can be wonderful companions, if time and love are invested in them. Group classes teach basic obedience skills such as sit, stay, come, focus, leave it and heel. Common behavior problems are also addressed such as digging, barking, bolting and jumping. Private Sessions: Busy schedule? Need to only work on one or two problem behaviors? Perhaps private lessons are for you. Conducted in the privacy of your own home, at your own pace and working around your own schedule, a certified instructor will come to your home to spend quality time with you and your best friend. We offer puppy socialization classes for puppies age 12-20 weeks and their owners. This age is a very critical developmental stage for puppies. The lessons they learn during this "critical socialization period" will affect them for life. Thus, it is important to teach puppies to accept and be comfortable with a variety of people, places, sights and sounds. Puppy Kindergarten: Puppy kindergarten serves to socialize new puppies so that they may learn to handle stress and new situations well as an adult. Additionally, the class will provide owner education in all aspects of canine development and behavior problem prevention and resolution. Owners can utilize this early experience to create a confident, comfortable and loving member of their household and community. Basic Obedience: Dogs 6 months and up may attend this 7 week class. Foundation skills of sit, down, stay and come are taught as well as real life behaviors such as greeting strangers, handling and grooming, and impulse control. Loose leash walking, get it, drop it, leave it, and targeting are taught as well. We will also ask owners to practice at home between each training session. A strong commitment on your part to practice several times a day is necessary for real change to be effective. Private Sessions: We will come to your home at a time convenient to everyone in your household, and will work one-on-one with you and your dog to help you with the skills your dog will need to master to make a life-changing difference. You must first realize that change is often required for both dog and human. We will also ask owners to practice at home between each training session. A strong commitment on your part to practice several times a day is necessary for real change to be effective. The number of lessons required will be determined by the owner's goals, and the dog's temperament and learning curve. Results are also contingent on the owners investment of time and energy to achieve the desired results.
