MONEY FACTORY!! This business offers grossly over-priced food (and wings, in particular). For example, if you order "seasoned" whole chicken wings, they charge an extra $2 (which I discovered after-the-fact). I went back for a second visit (aware of the additional $2 fee) and ordered 20 "seasoned" whole wings; to my dismay, they charged an additional "$4 "(alleging there was an additional $2 charge for every 10 wings - which is completely and utterly ridiculous AND, of course, unadvertised). To add to this non-sense, they seemed almost arrogant in their explanation of this $4 additional fee. The 20 whole wings were approximately $25, and I did not even order any side items!! $25 for 20 whole wings (and no sides) is outrageous. While waiting for my order (after having paid for my FINAL meal here - as I will not return to Tasty Shop), another patron was complaining about an additional cost to her order. Frankly, as an African-American, I was disappointed to notice all of the African-American clientele paying these exorbitant prices - while supporting a business not owned by us . . . serving, of all things, fried chicken!! I will not give this business any more of my hard-earned money. They don't seem to appreciate us; in addition, the customer service is inadequate. They not only do not appear to be customer-focused, but there were two small kids running around on the service side of the counter where food is packaged; this is both unsanitary and unacceptable. While waiting for my order, another African-American customer arrived to pick up a previously called-in carryout order. He was told that there was no record of the order. He was frustrated as he repeatedly explained that he had intentionally called the order in 20 minutes ago. The Tasty Shop worker seemed quite nonchalant as she explained that he would need to place the order again. There was no apology, and there was no effort to accommodate the customer in any way. Tasty Shop does not care about us (and will over-charge for every possible item/condiment); they clearly only want our money. There must be a FUBU business in Durham that sells seasoned and whole fried chicken wings. When I find this business (assuming the food is good and the staff is professional), I will be their No. 1 customer!!
