Whether you have unwanted hair in just a few places or over your entire body, getting a full body wax could be the perfect form of hair removal for men and women alike. If you’ve never had full body wax treatments before, you may wonder whether it’s even an appropriate beauty procedure for the type of hair you need to remove. Check out the info below to learn more about full body wax treatments and whether it’s the right hair removal method for your needs.

Areas Waxed on a Full Body Wax

Waxing salons and day spas which offer waxing services usually present a menu of waxing selections to choose from for the full body wax. While it is possible to sign up for a complete head to toe waxing, you will usually be asked to specify all the areas you want treated. Areas which can be waxed include:

  • The entire stomach or just the lower stomach
  • The chest
  • The entire back and shoulders or just the upper back
  • Arms and legs (with options for waxing just the lower half of the arms or legs)
  • Buttocks
  • Hands and feet
  • Bikini areas (with options on complete hair removal or just specific areas)
  • Areas on the face including upper lips and eyebrows.

What Expect from a Full Body Wax

Once you have chosen the areas you want treated, it is time to experience the full body wax. The aesthetician will use either a soft or hard wax, depending on the type of hair which needs to be removed (thick or thin) and the areas the hair is covering.

If soft wax is used the warmed wax will be applied to the treated areas, a cloth strip is pressed onto the wax and then the strip is quickly removed in the opposite direction of hair growth. Hard warm wax is placed directly on the skin and left to harden before it is removed with the hairs.

Expect to feel some pain, but using the services of an experienced and highly trained aesthetician will greatly reduce pain associated with waxing treatments. Be prepared for a time commitment too – a complete body wax generally takes an hour or more.

Full Body Wax Price

The cost of the wax treatment will depend on how much hair you have removed and the type of hair you have. For women, the price is generally between $150 to $250 and for men the price averages between $200 and $300 dollars.

The treatments generally last between 3 to 6 weeks before new hair growth is seen; new hairs must be at least ¼ inch long before the next full body wax appointment can be scheduled.

Post-Full Body Wax Products

Before you leave your first appointment, be sure to ask what post-full body wax products are recommended to help with any irritation you may experience. If you have especially sensitive skin or you have an adverse reaction, the type of aftercare you provide your skin will make all the difference. In some cases, this could mean switching your skincare regimen until your skin gets used to the full body wax hair removal process.
