Great food, beautiful venue. Nice to be able to bring in your own alcohol. However, just as a heads up for brides: be aware that there is no contract when booking the venue, just a deposit. The manager "misspoke" several times throughout my year of planning, costing me almost one thousand dollars I had not planned to spend in gratuity -- which I had been told was included in the pp price. The week before our wedding we chose our menu & gave a tentative head count. I was told I could confirm the count when I paid our bill the week of -- it ended up being smaller due to last minute cancellations, etc. I was then told that the food had already been ordered for my first head count. We did come to a compromise on the head count and I was not charged the 5th hr fee for my 4.5 hr party(a fee which was also not communicated to me until the week of). Still loved our reception but clarity & better communication is MUCH needed!!

I was at a wedding reception at Caper's. The environment was classy and elegant. The staff was professional, yet warm and friendly. The food was incredible, like no other buffet meal I've ever had. The bride and groom later raved over how satisfied they were with everything. I went to lunch not too long after and saw the room transformed into a classy upscale dining room. The same woman was there to greet and seat me. When I mentioned the reception to her she remembered the event well. The waitress needed little more than to ask my lunch order. She was prompt and as warm and friendly as the girls who worked the reception. My meal was presented to me like a picture in a magazine. I almost felt bad messing it up with my fork. It was by far the best lunch I've ever had in Erie. The price was right too. The environment, the food, and the way the staff interacted with eachother made for the best dining experience I've had in the area. Erie has needed this for a long time.
