I just posted a review on a different review website, but I want to spread the word about G&R. Therefore, since I put a lot of thought into that review, I am simply going to copy and paste it below. I wanted to make you aware of that so you won't be temped to think this is some automated net-bot of a review. It really is just me, Michael Preyer, a local citizen of Escondido. I first discovered G&R a few years ago when I ordered some tires via the internet and had them shipped to G&R for installation. G&R called me when the tires arrived and we made an appointment. I sent my wife in with our car since I had to work. She was back on the road in less than half an hour. That other huge tire store that you see everywhere with big red letters (initials D.T.) always takes FOREVER to install my tires. According to my wife, G&R was not only fast and efficient, their facility was clean and every person who works there treated her with friendliness and respect. She came home very happy and that makes me very happy!





NOTE: G&R is both a tire center and repair center. It all used to be under one roof, but about two years ago they expanded across the street so the repair center is in one building and the tire center is in the other.





TODAY, my wife went back to G&R to have a flat tire repaired. Out of habit, she had first gone to that other big store with the big red letters (initials D.T.). They told her, "Sorry. It can't be repaired. And since your tires are partially worn, we need to sell you TWO NEW TIRES!" She called me at work to ask whether she should do that. I told her to say no and come on home. The tire that needed to be fixed had a large roofing nail stuck in the tread. It was not in the sidewall nor was it too close to the sidewall. According to regulations, a hole in the tread cannot (or should not) be patched if it is over 1/4 inch in diameter. The roofing nail was within that limit.





I sent my wife to G&R for two reasons:

1) I trust them if they say the tire cannot be fixed

2) I trust them to fix it right if they feel that it CAN be fixed (which I was knew it could)





This experience was even better than before! My wife had our 10-year old grandson with her. He LOVES to work with me on any task and learn about everything. He is very inquisitive. At G&R, the store was not busy when my wife arrived, so they offered to show my grandson the process of fixing a tire. They explained every step of the process as he watched from a safe distance. He was thrilled!





The people at G&R are truly special. As a small local business, their reputation is the key to their success given the enormous draw of the huge chain stores. G&R employees care about the work they do. They even seem to genuinely care about each customer. They made my wife and grandson feel very special today.





I wasn't even at G&R today in person and they still made my life easier! Rather than putting the repaired tire into the back of our van as it was when my wife arrived, they removed the temporary spare, installed the repaired tire, then put the temporary spare back in it's difficult location cranked up underneath my wife's Sienna van. I was not looking forward to doing that because it's a royal PITA. Now I don't have to!





To cap all that off, G&R only charged a small pittance of a fee. It was so little that my wife paid them double and said to share it with the crew. Even at that, the price was silly cheap.





I HIGHLY RECOMMEND G&R to anyone who needs tires or need work on their car or truck. G&R works on large trucks and fleets, too! Please support G&R. Don't let the big monster chain-stores (and their less than honest employees) take over the world!
