- Nutritional CounselingOnce a day, Monday through Saturday, hot, nutritious meals are delivered to Freeman Community Residents. The noon meals are prepared by FRHS Nutrition Services. The cost of the meal is $5.09.
- Primary CareThere are three full time physicians, one part time physician, one part time general surgeon, one physician assistant and two certified nurse practitioners. There are also 5 visiting specialists who make regular monthly visits to either the hospital or clinic. Appointments can be made with any of these specialists through your primary care physician.
- Family PracticeThe FRHS Clinics offer a wide range of services in general medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, minor surgical procedures, and routine annual exams.
- Emergency CareIn 1994, the “connection project” physically connected Freeman’s Rural Medical Clinic, built in 1963, to the hospital. The “connection project” included a new hospital nurse’s station, new lab and X-Ray areas, two birthing suites, ICU, surgical suites, a 3-bay emergency room, and a prayer room. The new main entrance to the hospital faces east with a spacious parking area.
- ElectrocardiogramInpatient and outpatient laboratory services provided within the department include bacteriology, blood banking, chemistry analysis, hematology and coagulation, urinalysis, electrocardiography, event monitoring and holter monitoring.
- ImmunizationsFreeman Regional Health Services in Freeman, SD is seeking a full-time RN or LPN at our skilled long-term care facility, Oakview Terrace. Supervise & provide high quality direct resident health care and daily living assistance, administer medications and immunizations, monitor and document treatments, assist providers as requested and effectively communicate with the resident care team. Work 12 hour night shifts, 36+ hours per week, including every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday.
- ObstetricsIn 2005, Rural Medical Clinics and Freeman Regional Health Services announced plans for changes in their obstetrics services that include ending the delivery of babies at Freeman Hospital. However, the facility continues to offer prenatal education for couples expecting a baby, as well as postpartum services. Deliveries will be referred elsewhere; however, FRHS staff will continue to provide emergency OB care. Baby deliveries ended June 1, 2005.

- EndoscopyWhen considering surgery or endoscopy procedures for you or a member of your family, you expect the best medical care possible. At Freeman Medical Center, the team is made up of experienced professionals whose top priority is the patient safety, comfort and well-being.
- Mental Health• A clinical social worker helps patients develop strategies to change behavior or cope with difficult situations and refer patients to other resources or services, such as support groups or other mental health professionals.
- Thyroid
- UltrasoundRadiologic images as directed by providers, operate ultrasound, mammography, CT, digital X-ray portable & room equipment and assist patients with collecting diagnostic and therapeutic images. Occasional call schedules with holiday and weekend rotation.
- MRI
- RadiologyThe Radiology Department at Freeman Regional Health Services employs three Registered Technologists available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- X-Rays
- MammographyOversee day-to-day operations and responsibilities and manage staff in the radiology department. Modalities include: general radiography, portable x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and computer tomography.
- Computed TomographyFreeman Regional Health Services is diligently working to prepare space for the arrival of a new Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, scheduled for installation in mid-October.

- Orthopedics
- Physical TherapyPhysical Therapists Tony Miller, Rebecca Schultz and Elizabeth Waltner and Physical Therapy Assistant Mike McCue provide physical therapy services for our community at FRHS.
- Occupational TherapyOakview Terrace is a Medicare Skilled Facility. In order to be covered by Medicare, a resident must have had a 3-day acute care stay at the hospital, and must be admitted with orders to receive physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy. There are other qualifiers as well, such as acute nursing care.
