      Tempe New Day Surgery Center offers outpatient LAP-BAND surgery, cosmetic surgery and general surgery. For 30 years, we have provided patients with exceptional outpatient services. From the moment you are admitted to our center, a nurse will accompany you through every step of your stay to ensure your comfort, assist your surgeon and provide you with a positive experience. The surgeons who use our facility are some of the Valley's finest. In fact, many of our doctors are listed in Phoenix Magazine's Top Doctors annual edition. We are proud of the fact that Tempe New Day is accredited by, the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) -meaning we have met rigorous nationally recognized standards. While not mandatory, we opted to earn accreditation to provide our patients with the highest level of care possible. Tempe New Day is located on Southern Avenue located just off the 101. Our newly renovated center offers patients privacy and convenience. Tempe New Day is a one-story facility with ample convenient parking. We offer complimentary wireless internet access in our waiting room and are surrounded by a landscaped courtyard providing friends and families a peaceful place to wait during surgery. Tempe New Day Surgery Center provides quality, convenient outpatient surgery in a private setting. Our general surgeon, Gowen B. Nirmul, MD, FACS, was recognized as one of America's Top Surgeons in 2007 and is recognized in Phoenix Magazine's Top Doctors annual edition. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Memberships include the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic, attended graduate school at Yale University School of Medicine and graduated from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Nirmul is a general surgeon who specializes in a number of different laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Leverett is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. With 13 years of surgical expertise, Dr Leverett combines the art and science of cosmetic surgery and his skill with the latest techniques to achieve results that are beautiful yet natural. He believes a well-informed client makes the best decision. Education and patient safety are at the forefront of his practice. Professional memberships include Fellow American College of Surgeons, Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and a Member of the Lipoplasty Society. Dr Leverett completed his residency at Kettering Medical Center Dayton, Ohio, his Plastic Surgery Residency at York Hospital Department of Surgery York, Pennsylvania, and Maricopa Medical Center Department of Surgery. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia Augusta, Georgia. Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization. Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by the AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by the Accreditation Association's expert surveyors-volunteer physicians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services. More than 3, 600 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation and not all undergoing the on-site survey are granted accreditation. AAAHC accreditation is specifically for organizations that provide diagnostic or medical care on an outpatient basis (where an overnight stay would not be required).
