General Info
Dr. Kinchen is an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon and the founding partner of 360 Back and Spine Center. With nearly 20 years of experience in spinal surgery, she is well trained in both anterior and minimally invasive surgical approaches to the cervical thoracic and lumbar spine. She is widely recognized by her peers as the expert in adult spinal deformity, reconstruction, failed back surgery and is considered one of the best doctors in her field. Dr. Kinchen received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Yale University in 1990. In 1995, she graduated from Harvard Medical School, during that time she served as the lead researcher for several projects in the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory. After Harvard, she completed her Orthopedic Surgery Residency and Kostuik Spine and Deformity Fellowship at top-ranked Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She then relocated to Los Angeles, California where she served as a medical director until 2009. Dr. Kinchen is an accomplished and dynamic lecturer, adept at educating both clinical and non-clinical audiences. In 2008, the publication Black Enterprise placed Dr. Kinchen on their Hotlist for Top Professionals under 40 in the United States. At 360 Back and Spine Center, Dr. Kinchen partners with her patients to inform them of all their options so they are empowered to make an educated decision. Because she is an advocate for taking a conservative approach to surgery, she takes the time to get to know her patients. She wants a complete 360 understanding of her patient's life, current living situation and family dynamics before determining the best course of treatment. Every exam room at 360 Back and Spine Center is equipped with the latest technology for the purpose of educating our patients. This allows them to not only hear but see their options. Dr. Kinchen is an active member of the Yale Alumni Association where she has the privilege of interviewing potential admission candidates and mentoring them on what they can expect when they attend her alma mater. She is an active member of the Jack and Jill of America organization whose core philosophy is that every child - if given the proper guidance and opportunity - can be developed into a leader. She helped sponsor The One Heart Project, a campaign attached to The One Heart movie that is providing incarcerated and at-risk youth a second chance.
