      Athos Patsalides, MD, MPH, is an internationally renowned interventional neuroradiologist and serves as the director of neurointerventional surgery at North Shore University Hospital. He specializes in neurointerventional surgery and neuroradiology, and treats vascular conditions of the brain and spine including brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs).A revolutionary pioneer in interventional neuroradiology research, Dr. Patsalides is excited to bring new, innovative treatments to Northwell. He is the founding leader of many groundbreaking clinical trials, and first in the world to develop minimally invasive venous sinus stenting for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) and pulsatile tinnitus rare conditions that are often misdiagnosed and, consequently, left untreated. His vast knowledge base and unique expertise attracts patients from across the country and around the world, many of whom are seeking a second medical opinion about their diagnosis, treatment or prognosis.As the fellowship director of the neurointerventional surgery program, Dr. Patsalides trains residents and fellows who have studied at the best hospitals in the country.
