Bodywork for Peace connects with people from all walks of life, with the common goal of feeling better physically and emotionally. Located in San Diego, B4P visits your home or work to provide fantastic blends of styles to provide serious relief of tension, chronic pain, and stress. Sessions may focus solely on bodywork, may address somatic/emotional concerns, and may include peace education. Educational and philosophical background: Relational Somatics specialization in the Holistic Health Practitioner program at International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego Nonviolent Communication Arbinger Institute The idea for Bodywork for Peace was conceived while the owner, April, was teaching parents and teachers in Uganda ways to discipline without beating children. She reasoned that some of the beating occurs due to emotional stress, and if that stress were reduced, adults would be less likely to abuse their children. Knowing that massage therapy has great effects in reducing stress through experiencing safe, relaxing touch, April committed to study and practice massage as a practical way to promote peace.
