Lane Construction Corporation is a privately held company founded in 1890 by a railroad engineer. The company has expertise in the construction of highways and bridges, locks and dams, mass transit systems, airport runways, aprons and taxiways. Lane completes more than $800 million of work each year in over 20 states. The company owns and operates more than 50 bituminous asphalt plants, quarries, aggregate plants and transit mix plants at various locations throughout the Northeast, midAtlantic and southern regions of the United States. Its subsidiary, Rea Contracting, is a highway and bridge contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina. The company is ranked among the top 50 contractors in the U.S. by Engineering News Record. It is also a recipient of the Diamond Achivement Commendations by the National Asphalt Pavement Association for excellence in hot mix asphalt plant and site operations.
