      Meet Dr. Kane and Kane Orthopedic Institute Kane Orthopedic Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii, has a well-deserved reputation for providing highly personalized orthopedic care. Under the leadership of Thomas Kane III, MD, the entire team values each patient, beginning with timely appointments scheduled within 1-2 days and a pledge to see patients within 10 minutes of their appointment time. Dr. Kane received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis, and then completed four years of general surgery residency training at the University of California in Sacramento, California, and the University of Hawaii. He stayed at the University of Hawaii to finish a five-year orthopedic surgery residency, before going to the University of Southern California to pursue a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction. He was Hawaii’s first fellowship-trained adult hip and knee surgeon, and he pioneered the introduction of arthroscopic hip surgery in the state. As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kane treats the full scope of orthopedic conditions and sports medicine, including conditions ranging from arthritis to hip, knee, and shoulder injuries. Patients receive nonsurgical treatment and customized rehabilitation, as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, joint preservation surgery, total joint replacements, and revision joint replacement surgery. No matter what type of surgery, patients depend on Dr. Kane’s experience. He has performed thousands of surgeries with a surgical success rate of over 98%. Dr. Kane develops innovative solutions for each patient, providing cutting-edge surgical technique with old-school patient care.
