I would highly recommed this studio to anyone interested in true growth in dance. I have 2 kids at this studio currently. They were 2 and 3 years old when they started and the teaching has been incredible. As a former dancer myself I wanted the best training for my children. The teachers are professional and truely care for their students. These teachers have challenged my kids and I have seen their self confidence soar. My children are on the competition team and I have witnessed the time and dedication the Director and teachers give to helping students accomplish their goals. The Director has even established a scholarship in the name of one of her former dancers. The Ian Berry Memorial Scholarship was established to help underprivileged kids have an opportunity to dance that would not otherwise be able to do so. As far as the costumes they are beautiful! Def. Not $20 costumes. They are handmade & good quality costumes. If you still have doubts meet with the director personally. Watch the quality of dance at one of their events, (fair, kids day on the farm, wizards half time, competitions, recital etc.). This is where I want my kids to dance, they are happy and thriving at this studio.

This studio is the best in the county by leaps & bounds! Studio has been around for 40 years, clearly they're doing something right! Last post must have been some salty parent where their child wasn't a lead & they quit. My child dances there(I even danced there back in the day & loved it) & she absolutely loves it. The owner is extremely professional & so are the teachers, they are qualified & have professional resumes. They also all teach for other studios, so to say they are awful, you are discriminating against all the other studios they teach for,So recommending a studio out of the county is not in your best interest. They have truly made my child a beautiful dancer. I wouldn't listen to the last review AT ALL!I'm a very pleased parent! Also, the costumes are not $20 costumes, a lot of them handmade & they are truly beautiful.They also just redid the entire inside of the studio so the facility is completely brand new. All in all, wonderful experience & my child is extremely happy!

Stay far, far away. The office is run by a very rude lady and they constantly get accounts mixed up (IE saying you didn't pay when you did, taking months to cash checks, duplicate billing).

The owner/director has a history of driving away students/clientele due to the unprofessional environment. Ask anyone who danced or had a kid that danced there and the majority will tell you that the owner and many teachers are nasty to the children, specifically those on her competition team.

She will lie to you about your child's abilities in order to get you to stay/spend more money, the teachers are not certified, she lets teenagers "teach" her classes, she will gouge you by charging you $150 for a $20 costume and nickel and dime you to death.

She will spread the worst kind of gossip to & about parents and kids without regard to the effects it has on the emotional health of her students (including speculating on kids sexual activities, home life, marital & money problems). She will also make fun of a child's abilities to others that attend. All this leads to an atmosphere that is unhealthy, stressful and even traumatic for children and teens.

I personally witnessed all of this behavior and more over a period of 10+ years, everything I saw/heard can be validated by others who also experienced the same of the course of their times there. I wish I had heeded the warnings of parents already involved and stayed far away. The sooner this place goes out of business the better off the community will be.



If you are looking for real dance training in a professional environment, I would advise searching outside of Calvert in St Mary's, Deale, Bowie, etc. It will be well worth your drive and your sanity.
