      Dr. Carl Akin is a cardiologist with Midwest Heart & Vascular Specialists in the greater Kansas City area, seeing patients in Independence and Blue Springs, Missouri. Dr Akin earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine and completed a fellowship in cardiology at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the Metropolitan Medical Society of Kansas City, the American Medical Association, and the Missouri State Medical Association. Dr. Akin is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical lipidology.
