      Dawn Food Products was originally established as a bakery in Jackson, Mich., in 1920. The company became famous for its donuts. Even its competitors would ask for the prepared mix. Demand for the company s mixes became so great, the company closed the bakery and opened the United States first mix company. Dawn expanded the product line to include a range of food products for the baking industry. It was at this time, the company became known as Dawn Food Products. The company s product line has expanded to include a range of mixes, bases, icings, fillings, frozen products, ready-to-sell products and equipment, as well as commodities, packaging, ingredients and virtually anything needed to run a profitable bakery. Dawn Food Products has a location in Jackson, Mich.
