The Consumer Protection Division is a division of the Mississippi Attorney General s Office that works to save victims from unscrupulous business practices and scams. It answers various calls and mediates several cases of consumer fraud and unfair tactics. The division also works to educate residents and helps them to prevent from becoming victims of crimes. The Consumer Protection Division provides information regarding identity theft, home repair guidelines, mortgage foreclosures, scams and consumer myths. It handles complaints related to automobiles, charitable solicitations, disaster fraud, home contracting, telemarketing and automobiles. The department also offers various online applications.
