Their business license requires ALL foods to be prepared and cooked in a professional kitchen that has passed inspection. They are renting one for just a couple of hours a week so that they can pretend they are doing the right thing. However, they are fooling their customers and the business licensing authority since most of what they sell is prepared and cooked in their own residential basement. Their unlicensed commercial-like kitchen set up in their basement is very basic. It raises all sorts of violations including poor food safety practices and unsanitary conditions. A health inspector would likely shut down the food business operation instantly. Their customers deserve to be aware of it.

While we have enjoyed Les Caprices' delicious paella, waffles and other delicacies at the local Farmers Market for a long time, over the past few years, we have utilized their catering business (for both personal and business occasions) and been extremely pleased with the quality, presentation, value and service offered by Joelle and her staff! The company has a wide variety of menu options and price points, providing a great match for everything from a fully catered (including bartenders and onsite chef preparation) 50th birthday celebration, to a (pre-made, served) business/political fundraiser to a (pre-made/delivery only) farewell brunch for a colleague. Joelle always exceeds that outlined in the contract, ensuring ample food for unexpected guests; in addition, her affable nature and commitment to service translates into a very positive relationship that is sure to enhance any event. It is without hesitation that I recommend Les Caprice de Joelle to anyone seeking a wonderful caterer.
