- MisdemeanorsDuring law school Mr. Sharp developed a passion for criminal defense and civil law while interning for the Davidson County Metro Public Defender’s office and working for a prominent insurance defense firm in Nashville. He began his law practice in Nashville where he defended hundreds of clients ranging from simple misdemeanor to first degree murder charges. Mr. Sharp has successfully defended cases at jury trial in murder prosecutions. He has represented persons wrongfully convicted of serious felony matters on appeal, to include direct appeal and state post-conviction matters. Mr. Sharp has successfully argued to have a first degree murder conviction overturned at the trial court level in a post-conviction proceeding. During his three years of practice in Nashville he also worked on many civil cases involving personal injury and divorce.

- Business DisputesSandy’s practice also includes business law and contract negotiations. His areas of expertise also encompass the investigation and litigation of directors’ and officers’ claims, financial institution fidelity bond claims, accountants’ liability claims, and agency malpractice claims. He was lead co-counsel on behalf of the FDIC in a series of fidelity bond claims. For the first time in a Tennessee federal district court forum, he convinced the court and jury that a federal common law bad faith claim was viable, and the jury awarded $3.5 million on that claim. The remaining bond claims were negotiated and settled for approximately $26 million. Sandy also represented the FDIC in several directors’ and officers’ lawsuits that yielded the FDIC in excess of $12 million. He was lead counsel in an investigation of professional liability claims involving a large multi-bank holding company in Texas. Sandy, as lead counsel, settled a $100 million lender liability action pending in Charleston, South Carolina.
- Business TransactionsMs. Mann served as the Tax Attorney for the City of Sevierville, Tennessee from 1994 through 2002. She also administered major projects to acquire 146 parcels of property for the City of Sevierville as part of two highway expansion projects and prosecuted condemnation cases on behalf of the City. Ms. Mann has represented bank clients in complex commercial transaction and prepared loan documents for such transactions. She has prepared articles and presented continuing legal education seminars on construction liens, title insurance and ethics in real estate and commercial transactions.

- Construction LitigationDana was born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, Dana attended college at Tennessee Tech University on a basketball scholarship, receiving a B.S. in Business Administration in 1992. Dana received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Memphis in 1996. While in law school, Dana received an award for her performance in Moot Court Board competitions, served on the Moot Court Board, and was law clerk to Judges Donn Southern and Leonard Pierotti of the Shelby County, Tennessee Probate Court. Also while in law school and through the Memphis Area Legal Clinic, Dana tried and won a breach of construction contract lawsuit and received the Dean’s Award.

We have served as lead defense counsel in toxic tort cases involving a variety of contaminants in Tennessee state courts.
