I use to work for Mark's Catering. Even though it has good reviews and I'm sure the food is delicious and the presentation, the behind the scenes are awful working for Maureen. I worked for her for one year and I can only remember once or twice my paycheck was actually given to me on pay day. it was very frustrating to the point that I could not pay my rent on time and had to move. Then there was the episode of when I did move and asked her to mail me my last check it never came so I had to correspond with her via email and even though she said she sent it , weeks went by and it never came. Then I finally had to threaten the labor board on her and she paid cash through my bank account and said to void the check when it comes. But it never came. Oh the frustration. then when I applied to unemployment she lied to the unemployment people and said I moved and that is why I quit, and really she knows I left there to move out by my daughter because where I was living in California the landlords were upset that my rent was never on time, so they asked me to move and all because this operation never paid me on time. the 5th and 20th were my pay days and trust me it was sometimes up to 5 to 7 days late. I worked at the cafe so I couldn't go to the catering kitchen till after close and by then guess what? it was closed ....Oh the aggravation. and the reason I decided to write this reivew is this. now it is tax time. Tax W2's are suppose to legally be mailed by February 2nd and guess what? even though I emailed her in the beginning of January which I got a response and she assured me of my correct address , I get an email from Maureen telling me she is out of town and will mail it when she gets back. I got the email on Feb 2nd. I'm livid. I asked her why didn't she mail it out before she went out of town?so far no answer back and now I'm contacting the IRS. There are many of the employees who have worked with her, whose checks bounced, and they quit because of it. so maybe on the outside it looks good, but the employees are treated terribly. I have never in my whole working life had this many problems getting paid. Oh by the way, I won my unemployment even though I quit. all I did was show the email to them of Maureen admitting and saying sorry for all she put me though on paying me. or really NOT paying me on time. I was funded immediately. do not work for this company. you will find out that it is a horrible business inside.

Mark's Catering is World-Class! I recently attended a wedding reception in Anaheim Hills for a close friend and found out as the evening and the food was passed where this delicious and beautiful food was from. I asked the host and he informed that it was from Mark's Catering in Laguna Hills. I was amazed at the variety of choices offered and there were even vegetarian options. They had crispy tortellini with marinara, some kind of potato filled with pulled pork or beef and it was to die for! The had one of the most beautiful cheese displays I had ever seen and it was covered with all kinds of cheeses, fresh and dried fruits, nuts and gourmet crackers! Wow! I would recommend Mark's Catering to anyone in the Orange County area and hope to use them soon myself. -Robert

I cannot speak highly enough about Mark's Catering! They are absolutely a prize choice! I ran across them quite by accident - well, I prefer to believe it was by Grand Design - and was immediately a fan! I was in an unexpected emergency bind for a caterer when I pulled into a fast food drive thru right behind an immaculate Mercedes SUV. Emblazoned on the back window was "Mark's Catering" with the phone number. Oh, no! The SUV is pulling away! It's Monday 4pm and I need a caterer by noon on Wednesday!! I honked and got (Maureen's) attention. She pulled back into the center and we talked for 3-5 minutes. She jotted down a few words and said she'd email me a menu for the figure I just threw out at her. Within the hour, I had all the information I needed. On Weds, they arrived as scheduled with the most amazing food for 50 people! Everybody loved everything! Amazing presentation and taste! Incredible lady to work with! AAA chef! They are Olympic Gold & we WILL use them again!
