      Built in the late 1800’s, H. D. Gibbes & Sons began as a general merchandise store. It was the primary center for commerce in Learned and the surrounding communities for many years. Although the railroad is gone and Learned is now a town of fewer than 90 people, H. D. Gibbes & Sons is still open 6 days a week. You’ll find convenience store items such as gas, chips, hamburgers, cold beer, and soft drinks. Since 2009, H. D. Gibbes & Sons offers the finest entrées of steak, lamb chops and seafood served with homemade potato and vegetable casseroles every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Live music, top-notch cuisine, and a unique dining experience draw customers in each weekend. “Community seating”, food served on paper plates, and paper towels for napkins are all part of the Gibbes experience. “An old store that happens to serve steaks”, is the best description for H.
