AAA towed me to Advanced Auto Repair. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Great, friendly service, emergency, reasonable, major repair. If my car breaks down again I hope I'm in Livermore!

My car broke down on 580 East heading towards the 5 South during rush hour on a Friday afternoon. The only thing good that came out of it was AAA towed me to Dave's shop. When we called Dave, he let me know he may not be able to get the parts in time to have my car ready for the weekend, and really couldn't promise anything till he saw it. As it turned out the part needed couldn't get there until Monday morning. I was far from home and my only alternative was to stay in a hotel, and maybe rent a car the next day for the weekend. Dave really went above and beyond by driving me around Livermore at 5PM to help me find a decent place to stay. He gave me an estimate for the repairs and the car was ready as he said it would be on Monday morning. I had a lot of stuff in my car, including my favorite house plant, and Dave actually watered it for me!

I was having car troubles and could not find anyone who was available or cared to have me come in. I found Advanced Auto and was very pleased with the gentlemen. He checked my car for free and called that same day to tell me my car problems. He and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I will continue to take my car here and know that I will be treated in a respectful, friendly manner and receive great service. Keep it up gentlemen!

I know this shop excels in diagnosing electrical problems, big or small. Let me give you an example. My wife drives a 2001 Honda that she highly depends upon to get her to and from several places in the east bay for her consulting work. Talk about personalities between car and driver: she has the untoward habit of relying on the onboard alarm to go off if she leaves the lights on after she turns the car off. However, an intermittent problem started before we moved to Livermore. The alarm would not go off and she would repeatedly leave the lights on and the battery would drain. Our previous shop could not, and would not take the time, to diagnose this problem, and she could not change her behavior because she was always in a rush. The problem became more frequent after we moved. Knowing my wife's habits, Dave and his shop took the time to trace and cure the problem, even though it was esoteric and hidden in the wiring. The result: no more battery drains!

David and his team are top notch. Took them a very special repair of my AC system. Brought in a specialty part not typically replaced by other shops. Dave charged me just a fraction of an hour above a regular AC service and leak check. Now my system will freeze a polar bear! This saved me hundreds in not replacing my compressor. They also performed a long overdue timing belt replacement with same day service. Great job!

I've been coming to this shop for about 4 years off and on and have only ever been satisfied with their friendly service and knowledgeable staff. Tom was always friendly and very accommodating when my financial situation wasn't always easy to work with. Now that he is retired, I see that same level of service is a factor shared among the rest of the staff as well. Though my location has changed multiple times in this time frame, advanced auto is the only shop I go to for all my major services and maintenance needs.This is a shop that I trust with my car and would recommend to anyone.
