- Pediatric CareThe Orthopedic Institute of Michigan is a group of board certified surgeons with a wide range of expertise in the orthopedic field. Our practice was created in 2003 by combining the practice of Dr Khoury with other experienced orthopaedic surgeons well established in the local community. Dr. Michael Brager joined the group in 2004 from Colorado and is fellowship trained. The Orthopedic Institute offers on-site digital radiography and physical therapy. We have the ability to give comprehensive orthopedic care for conditions such as fractures, arthritis, sports and work related musculoskeletal injuries. We preform arthroscopic and total joint replacement surgeries in the shoulder, hip, knee and elbow, just to name a few. In addition, our skilled surgeons have obtained additional fellowship training in the fields of Sports Medicine and Pediatrics.

- Carpal Tunnel SyndromeDr. Fallahi is fellowship trained and specializes in the upper extremities, including the hand. He attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where he graduated with Honors. He then completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. After his residency, he went on to complete his fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, KY. His practice includes specialty care for; carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, fracture care, CMC arthroplasty, elbow replacement, shoulder replacement, Dupuytren’s, trigger finger, hand arthritis, ganglion cysts, ligament and tendon injuries.

- OrthopedicsMelissa has been working in the field of physical therapy since 1996. She is a 2001 graduate of Henry Ford Community College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Madonna University. Working primarily in orthopedics since graduating from HFCC, Melissa has a wide range of experience with patients from pediatric to geriatric. She is licensed as a PTA in the State of Indiana.
- ArthroscopyDr. Salamon is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He performs knee and hip joint replacement, fracture care, and arthroscopy surgery. Dr. Salamon grew up and attended school in Detroit and is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School. He interned at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California, and then served active duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Virginia and Fort Sheridan, Illinois. After his internship he worked as a family practitioner for seven years. Dr. Salamon completed his orthopedic residency at Boston University and Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit. Since 1980, he has been providing orthopedic care in the Livonia area. Throughout his practice, Dr. Salamon has built a fine reputation in the professional community. Many of his colleagues seek his advice because of his expertise and he also shares a genuine, down-to-earth, rapport with his patients..
- Joint ReplacementDr. Khoury is an experienced physician in the vast area of orthopedics. He performs knee and hip joint replacement, fracture care, and arthroscopy surgery. He also specializes in pediatrics. Dr. Khoury, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, attended the Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria. He served a rotating internship at Grace Hospital and an orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital, both in Detroit. Dr. Khoury also took a Fellowship at Newington Children's Hospital, a Yale University affiliate, in Newington, Connecticut. He has been providing orthopedic care in the Livonia area since 1974. He serves as a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. This allows him to keep up on the latest improvements in the field of orthopedic medicine.

- Sports MedicineA Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Brager is Fellowship trained and specializes in Sports Medicine. He received a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, and his M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship and an orthopedic surgery residency at the Orlando Regional HealthCare System. Dr. Brager then completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Colorado, where he subsequently practiced as an assistant professor of orthopedics and served as a team physician for both the University of Colorado and the University of Denver sports teams. He has also been extensively involved in caring for high school athletes and is presently a team physician for the Southern Michigan Timberwolves, a local semi-professional football team. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Sports Medicine and a delegate to the Wayne County Medical Society. Dr. Brager has been providing orthopedic care at the Orthopedic Institute of Michigan since its inception in 2003 and enjoys treating athletes of all levels.
- Physical TherapyThe physical therapy approach to lower back pain is unique in that the aim is to revive the acute pain and then educate and show you how to prevent this from coming on again.

- Manual TherapyEach of these presents with different signs and symptoms and need to be treated with these differences in mind. The treatment may include manual therapy, which is used to restore normal joint mobility in addition to decreasing pain. This may be enhanced by exercises specific to the syndrome you are complaining of. A home exercise program will be given once the therapist is sure that they are on the right track.
