ITL, founded in 1955, was one of the first independent light testing laboratories in the country. We provided lighting manufacturers, specifiers, designers, architects, the government and others an accurate, efficient and unbiased source of evaluation for virtually every type of lighting. Today, as the most experienced independent lab in the industry, we continue to concentrate on providing accurate and comprehensive testing as well as the exceptional service on which we have built our reputation. ITL’s main focus has always been on testing. That has given us the opportunity to learn a lot about our clients and what they need. We have used that information to create a unique testing program that is simply unmatched. We know our clients want reports they can really use. So, ITL’s computer generated reports are clean, thorough, well organized and easy to follow. ITL offers many test services, which include indoor, roadway and floodlight photometry, flashing barricade warning lights, traffic signals and ballast testing. We test lamps and luminaires of all light source types such as LED (SSL), fluorescent, HID, LCD, induction, incandescent, etc.

We are located off of the Northeast intersection of Highway 66 and i25 in the i25 business Park located near Longmont, CO 80504.

Amenities

We provide photometric, electrical and in situ thermal testing to meet LED Lighting Facts, DesignLights Consortium, Energy Star and other lighting program requirements while following IES, ANSI and other pertinent test procedures. Independent Testing Laboratories, Inc. has been providing lighting test equipment to the lighting industry in the U. S. and Europe for over 40 years. The skills of lighting experts experienced manufacturing personnel, and the talents of software and firmware developers have been assembled to produce custom-designed systems that are second to none in the lighting industry. The resulting product is tailor-made to the application, providing the exact functionality required by each individual client. ITL's custom light measurement data acquisition and reduction software are consistently updated to meet the current requirements of the IES (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America).

Associations

ITL is accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) as a Calibration Laboratory and also for testing Energy Efficient Lighting Products. NVLAP-accredited laboratories are assessed against the management and technical requirements, published in the International Standard, ISO/IEC 17025. ITL is approved to do testing for the following lighting programs: Energy Star, Lighting Facts, Design Lights Consortium (DLC), California Lighting Commission (CLC). ITL is qualified to do testing for the US Department of Energy's Commercially Available LED Product Evaluation and Reporting (CALiPER) Program. ITL is certified to do testing for the Coast Guard.
