I have been a customer of Dr. Baum for over 25+ years. He and his staff are great! Nothing is perfect but they strive very hard to give the best care and service without breaking your bank account. I can't say that for many vets. I'm very grateful for him!

At last, a veterinarian who knows about SARDS. Roxi is my pug. It started with a bee sting. By August it was really bad, so we took her to our vet and she referred us to an ophthalmologist. Roxi was completely blind and diagnosed with SARDS. 600 dollars later and a one sheet print out of SARDS, and we were told she is just blind and she will be just fine! NOT the case! Just when I thought I was at the end of my search a friend of mine found Dr. Al Plechner! So I called and got Roxi in to see him. He ran tests and put Roxi on a thyroid and steroid regimen. And within a few weeks, I had my Roxi back!!!! She was no longer so confused and her tail was up and wagging again. I still have a very hard time with the fact that none of these veterinarians have a clue as to what SARDS entails! Dr. Al Plechner is truly an amazing doctor and human being. I thank God every day that we found him. He truly cares about his work!!! I am in constant contact with him about Roxi's progress. Traci R.

BEWARE THE VET TECHS IN THIS HOSPITAL WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU. THIS HOSPITAL WILL TRY VERY HARD TO CHARGE YOU FOR UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES. I called this hospital and explained that my cat was having breathing trouble. The phone operator scheduled an appointment fort the end of the night. I arrived with my cat and the techs working there immediately tried to declare the situation an emergency saying all breathing trouble is treated so. They suggested things like boarding the animal and hooking it up to oxygen. I tried calmly to explain to the techs that the cat would only let me handle him, but they took him from me into the back of the hospital without even considering my request. Being alone without anyone he knew he attacked the tech. I told them he would do this. Then, the doctor came out and suggested that the cat be put under anesthesia (as like in surgery for 75$) so that she could take a simple X-ray. 3 stars for cheap antibiotics.. Horrible, dishonest service.

Hi, Dr. Baum -- Just letting you know that Sadie, my dog, is reacting favorably to the meds you prescribed and is hardly limping at all after a week recuperating. I think she will be all better in the next two days or so. Thanks so much for taking care of her, as usual! Will let you know if any problems turn up. You guys are the best! Gary L.

We've been coming for years. Our oldest cat is 11, and we were coming before that, with bunnies, hamsters, birds, for at least 14 years. Coming to Center-Sinai is like having a family doctor for our pets. The atmosphere is very friendly, Dr. Baum is nice. The doctors care, they don't just push you through. I had a rat with tumors they removed, an obese parakeet we thought had a tumor because he was so fat, a hermaphroditic cat. We came in because we didn't know what we had ... Dr. Baum called us at home and left a message, he was so surprised. He said in all his years in veterinary medicine, he'd only seen one other hermaphroditic cat. And we love the pens. They're all over the house. That's how we know the phone number to call when we need to come in. Griselda Molina

I'm writing to say a huge thank you to Dr. Barry Baum, the wonderful veterinarian who was responsible for saving the life of my cat, Tamba. Cheers also to his exceptional staff at Center-Sinai Veterinary Hospital, in Los Angeles, including all the remarkable, attentive front office and vet techs who allowed and even encouraged things like night visits when the little kid had to stay over. I'll never forget how frightened Tamba was at first. But after the techs brought me a chair, I took her onto my lap, IV's and all, and stayed for an hour. Then, I put her back into her holding area, where she took a bath, and curled up for a nap, contented, knowing she was not abandoned. More than seven years later, she was one frisky kid, at the ripe old age of 17. It was then she contracted what turned out to be advanced cancer; we had to put her to sleep. Dr. Baum and the staff were extremely caring during this very tough time.I have always been very grateful, and now have 3 new kids seeing Dr. B.

We have such a special place in our hearts for Dr. Baum. He never gives up on finding a way to help the animals have a quality life, but will always give you the truth as to when the animal begins to suffer so that appropriate steps can be planned and taken. Hi, Dr. Baum. Tasha Belle here. You saw me yesterday (Friday). I just wanted to thank you soooo much for taking such good care of me and my owners. My mom is the absolute worst when it comes to worrying. She worries so much about me some of her concerns and questions make me embarrassed. I do have to tell you that I didn't appreciate all those needlely things that you gave me, or the pills either. Was that really necessary? And what is this cellulite stuff you speak of? Is it going to affect my beautiful shape? Seriously, though, Dr. Baum, we thank you for the compassion that you pour into your work. No matter what I come in to your office for, we all walk out knowing that you gave us 2000% of your best care. And we truly love you for that. The next time I come in, I'll bring you one of my favorite treats, okay? Have a great weekend, and thanks again. Tasha Belle

Thanks Dr. Baum!! Hello there. This is Brandi Stephens, the proud owner and lover of my newly adopted Honey Love. I came to see you yesterday and I cannot begin to thank you enough for your incredible help. I truly appreciate you for taking the time to answer my many questions. I will never forget how you made me feel. I left your office feeling completely reassured and all my worries were gone. As for Honey Love, she has definitely shown many signs of improvement. It must be between that shot you gave her and not having that one on 24/7. She is much happier and has more spunk. She has a heck of a lot more energy...every time I took her outside, she pulled me with her little self and wanted to run around the block. I absolutely adore you Dr. Baum! You are an amazing doctor and you have my complete loyalty. Honey Love and I are truly blessed to have you as a doctor.

Thank you, Dr. Baum, for seeing Buttercup today. Sorry she created such a hassle getting the shots. I really appreciate you giving me more explanation about the skin issues she has been experiencing. I didn't get much explanation like yours at the vet I was seeing. Most importantly, your staff is so friendly. Thank you, Veronica! This was a big reason why I decided to switch Vets. OK, and your fees are much more reasonable. Thank you again! Tamra & Buttercup

Dr. Baum is AMAZING! MY SNAKE ATE TONIGHT for the first time in six months! I was really getting super stressed. About two days before I moved here, I went to a vet in AZ about the same issue. All that doctor was talking about was x-rays, blood work, up charges. At first I thought that doctor was right on and knew what he was talking about, but Dr. Baum LITERALLY saw my snake for five minutes and was able to diagnose him! The other doctor did not catch the fact that Iwe had some pink dots on his belly scales, showing an infection. After Dr. Baum looked in Iwes mouth and saw everything was great, he simply looked and said, He hasnt always had this pink line down his belly, right? I replied I didnt believe so. His belly was very white. Dr. Baum said, Yup! He has little red spots going all down his belly. He just has a little infection, nothing major to worry about. All he needs is some antibiotics. THANKS such AWESOME work on my baby! Davina F.

Dr. Baum: I just wanted to let you know how grateful we are to all of you at Center Sinai for taking care of our beloved Peaches for the past 14 1/2 years. You were the first place that we brought her to when we found her in front of our home three blocks from your clinic back in 1996. Dr. Carrillo and her assistant Eddie came over the other morning and put her to sleep in such a caring and professional manner. Even though I am still very distraught, I know that it was the best thing to do and it was done by the best individuals. Thank you for allowing them to come to our home, I wanted it to be Peaches' last image. We also want to commend Dr. Williams who has always been such a comfort and resource. We still have another dog and we do not intend on going anywhere else! Keep up the good work! Giancarlo Mercado

Hi, Dr. Plechner! Here is a photo of the orchid I will be sending the paperwork in to name for you. I can be formal and call it Masdevallia Albert Plechner or I can be a little more creative and call it something like Masdevallia Plechners Pride. Do you have a preference? Thanks for all you do!
