Terrible surgery follow up

I had a hard time even checking 1 star for this practice. My husband has been seeing Dr. Emerson for 3 years. He had a cyst on his testicle called a spermatocele. Over the course of the 3 years it has gotten larger and more uncomfortable, so Dr. Emerson said he needed to have surgery to have it removed. While they were already down in that area operating, he went ahead and had a vasectomy too. The surgery center was not in the hospital, it was across the street in an Orthopedic building which we were not aware of until the day of surgery. Before they took him back, Dr. Emerson assured me he would not be in any pain when he woke up. He said he would give him a nerve blocker that would last 18 hours, then he would send him home with pretty strong narcotics. WELL, when I went back to recovery, he was moaning and buckled over in pain. I asked the discharge nurse if we could see Dr. Emerson and she told us he had already started another procedure and she was in charge. I explained to her what he had told me. She proceeds to tell me she could give him a Percocet before she shoved us out the door, but it was like an act of congress to get her hands on any medication. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? They literally shoved us out with him in excruciating pain. Also, he sent a RX with 20 5mg. Percocets. It happened to be May 23, so a holiday weekend was coming up and they would be closed all weekend plus Monday. He had a 4 inch incision on one testicle and a smaller one on the other testicle where the vasectomy was. He called the next morning to see if he could talk to the Dr. due to all the pain he was in, and he was not working that day. He went out of town for the Holiday weekend. That would have been nice to know beforehand. It took 2 calls to get a call back. The wanted him to come in and see the nurse practioner. Anyways, I could go on for hours about how terrible the surgery follow up and after care has been. I would steer clear from this practice completely! I wish we had done more research, because as I'm finding out.... This practice has poor reviews, mainly for the office staff.... But, it goes way beyond that!!!!!
