DETAILS
General Info
The Root House was built circa 1845 by Hannah and William Root, early settlers of Marietta. Visit one of the oldest surviving houses in Marietta, and get a glimpse of life for a middle class Georgia family in 1850. This simple frame house is more typical of its time and place than the grand plantations and columned mansions people typically imagine when they think of the Old South.
