Island Root Kava Bar offers the traditional kava drink of the South Pacific islands, along with several modified (Americanized) versions of the beverage. Kava is made from the finely ground root of a pepper tree indigenous to the South Pacific and served chilled in a (plastic) coconut shell. When consumed, kava produces a calming effect; a general sense of well-being, and is great for overcoming social anxiety. Kava is an excellent, healthy, and safe alternative to drinking alcohol and getting drunk.
