I entered this location about an hour ago, browsing for a few items I needed that varied from health and beauty to first aid to snacks for school lunches. I had about 2 hours until I had to get the kids off the bus, so I was in no rush. Upon entering the store I was greeted by the young male cashier, who was extremely pleasant and after a polite exchange of words, I went about my shopping. I noticed almost immediately that a female manager seemed to end up "tidying" almost every aisle I went to, even as they became more sparadic. I was in the store about 20 minutes and there was barely a 1 minute time frame in which she was not locked onto me. I felt uncomfortable and anxious by this because it seemed to be intentional rather than coincidental. At this point I have roughly $30 worth of merchandise in my basket, and I look up to see a police officer coming down the aisle I'm currently on. I great him (I've been in customer service for 7+ years, greeting people I pass is habit), thinking nothing of it. He passes me after responding to my greeting, but moments later the female manager approaches me, not trapping me between herself and the officer. I'm completely floored with confusion as I realize what's happening; she has called this officer here on me! She comes closer, accusing me of having "her hair products in my bag" and I am dumbstruck. I have never taken a single thing without paying for it, nor have I ever been treated like a common street rat or thief. The officer asks to see inside of my bag, to which I happily oblige, so far as to pull out the 3 hair products I do have on my person which I purchased 1-2 weeks ago. When I get to the mouse, the female manager points to it and says "that, that one is ours". I immediately object and explain that she must be mistaken, for I have owned this product for over a week, to which she replies with "I saw you put something in your bag, I have it on camera". The only thing I placed in my bag this entire trip, was my cell phone, and I politely explained that to the officer. He didn't even let me finish my sentence before he looked past me, and asked her "what would you like to do from here? Press charges?". She states that she merely "wants the product back, and I can go." But ma'am I thought yout had me on camera? I thought you saw this crime with your own eyes, yet you are so quick to drop it? With your definitive proof, and eye witness account? I requested to have a moment to look in my vehicle for the receipt and make my way for the door. I call my roommate/best friend while looking to have her also check her purse and the house for it. She finds the receipt, so I'm instantly relieved. I explain to the officer that I will go and retrieve it from home because she does not have a car, and he immediately changes his tone and begins to raise his voice, talking down to me and informing me that he is running the show and charges can still be pressed. In the end, I'm forced to leave MY HAIR PRODUCT THAT I HAVE THE RECEIPT FOR, I'm banned from the location, not even allowed to bring my receipt as proof to clear my name and reclaim my item. I have never been so insulted, belittled, and degraded in my entire life. I am still just taken aback with confusion as to why this is happening, and then it hits me, I didn't put on makeup today, I didn't fix my hair, it's just a messy bun, and I'm still in my workout clothes from my late morning routine. This woman, from the moment I sat foot in this store, saw my acne scars, my messy purple hair, and my sweaty clothes, and immediately profiled me as a worthless theif. I bring in $800+ a WEEK. I have acne scars from a combination of stress that caused me to break out and anxiety that caused me to pick at my breakouts. I am extremely self conscious about my skin, and RARELY leave the house without a full face of makeup because of it. I bartender in a scene that promotes eccentric style, so I have bright purple hair, tattoos, ear gauges, etc. But I al
